CommunitySites have a range of strengths that don’t always come in one package. The software they had already developed when our project began already met many of our needs. It’s straightforward and logical to use, and the fact that it is tried, tested and refined with communities over several years was a big attraction.
We’re also working together to extend the facilities on the site. It feels like a real partnership. Ian Grant, the main programmer at CommunitySites is somehow able to turn the vision we discuss into the practical nuts and bolts of the site with no fuss, at least none we see anyway. He has delivered what we wanted and a little bit more.
There’s an openness to problem-solving on both sides which leads to the most
creative development. Jack Latimer’s way of working combines experience,
intelligent analysis and a willingness to listen. He’s a ‘critical friend’ in the best
sense. I think most of all this continues to be my own particular joy in working with CommunitySites.
