Living Here
Community heritage website for Exeter museum
By Jack Latimer
The Living Here website was commissioned by the Royal Albert Memorial Museum in Exeter. It records the history of the area West of the River Exe in the city. CommunitySites won the contract because of our experience in setting up community heritage websites and because of the simplicity and proven track-record of our software.
We've developed several new software features for this site, working in close collaboration with the project team at the museum. People who add content to the site can include Google maps in their pages - as well as words, photos, audio and video. Website visitors can create collections of their favourite pages and indeed publish those collections as their own 'pick of the site', complete with a personal commentary. Editors of the site can add 'flags' to pages to indicate that (for example) the content is particularly suitable for children.
