What we're working on now
April 2011

CommunitySites has set up nearly 100 community and heritage websites and catalogues and we’re working on more. Below is a list of our current projects.

Community archive projects

We are creating a new network of community archives in Ireland called Our Irish Heritage. The network is being organised by National Museum of Ireland - Country Life. The first site to join the network is Oughterard Heritage.

We are also creating a new community archive about the history of the area of Barton and Treadworth for Gloucestershire Archives.

The network of Westminster Memories community archives continues to grow, with a new site being prepared about the history of St John's Wood.

Museum websites

We are designing new websites for Farmland Museum and Denny Abbey in Cambridgeshire and for Teignmouth and Shaldon Museum in Devon.

We have recently won the tender to create a few family history website for Tyne & Wear Archives & Museums.

Archive and cataloguing websites

We are continuing work on the People's Record website for the MLA (Museums, Libraries and Archives Council). This is a national project recording stories related to the 2012 Olympics.

We are also creating a website which celebrates Buckinghamshire and Stoke Mandeville hospital as the birthplace of the Paralympic movement. The client is Buckinghamshire County Council

We are creating an online catalogue of Hackney's listed buildings for the Hackney Society.

The Living Archive in Milton Keynes is one of the longest-established and best known community heritage organisations in the country.  It is using CommunitySites cataloguing software to organise its archive and display it online. The Living Archive will also launch a new website based on CommunitySites software. This website will include a live feed from the catalogue and combine the archive content with content contributed by website visitors.
