A network of community archives

The first site in the Herts Memories community archives network project has been launched in Hertfordshire.   

The Herts Memories project is being run by Hertfordshire Archives and Local Studies, with funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund. It will set up a network of nine sites in the first instance, with many more groups planned to join.

The site that has been launched is the master site. Later this year, the master site will link together all the community archives in the network. The other sites in the network, in places such as Welwyn Garden City, Oxhey and Broxbourne, will go live in the course of  2010.
