Folkemuseet

New museum project in Denmark

CommunitySites is delighted to have been chosen by the Folkemuseet in Denmark to create a new community heritage website for the museum. The website will draw on records and images stored in the central Danish cultural database, and combine these with content contributed by local people.

The Folkemuseet (literally 'Peoplemuseum') is a state recognized museum for the central North-east of Zealand. It is approximatel 40 minutes drive from Copenhagen. The museum is responsible for archaeological work in the area, in addition to having specialized collections about the history of the town of Hillerød and surrounding areas. The museum is run by the North Zealand Museum Association.

The funding for the project comes from the Heritage Agency of Denmark.
