Cataloguing software for a community archive

Letter in the Attic is a collection of letters and diaries related to Brighton and Hove. The papers were collected through an appeal to the general public in 2007-8.  The  project (used as a case-study by the HLF) is a partnership between local community heritage publishers QueenSpark and the East Sussex Record Office.

CommunitySites cataloguing software enabled a team of volunteers to produce an ISAD-G complaint catalogue which could be displayed attractively on the web, checked online by an archivist, and migrated easily to the East Sussex Record Office and National Archive catalogues via EAD or Excel.
